A 6-hour excursion around the Lake Como, where the blend of natural beauty and historical heritage is perfectly balanced
Itinerary:
Car pick-up at your hotel in Milan or in the region of Lombardy, transfer via Lecco, Cernobbio, Onno, Asso, Bellaggio, Gravedona, to discover the charming natural beauties, the 16th century villas, late Baroque, and Neoclassical estates blended with venerable lakefront towns. In ancient times, poets from Virgil and Catullus to Tennyson and Longfellow have raved about the lakes of Lombardy, but it is impossible to do justice when describing the marvelous beauty of Lake Como without visiting and above all understanding it. Lake Como is one of the most beautiful natural lakes in the North of Italy, it is approximately 28 miles long and never more than two miles wide. Located in Lombardy, at the foot of the Alps, it is close to Switzerland at about 70 miles away from Milan. The comfortable temperature of the ambience from May to October, the gentle climate and the glorious landscape enables visitor to enjoy breath-taking vistas as well as the characteristic mountains surrounding the Lake seem to be intentionally conceived for fabulous sightseeing tours. Private boats and ferries travel up and down, offering views of the villas such as Villa D'Este and Villa del Balbianello, Villa Pizzo and Villa Carlotta. We'll stop for lunch (not included) in a typical restaurant* to taste the traditional recipes of the local cuisine. Sighseeing on the way back to your hotel.
